Punta Gorda Cruise
Punta Gorda Cruise
April 20 – 22, 2012
Peter and Louise Franck – Leaders
Dale and Karen Medford – Asst. Leaders
We will cruise to Fisherman’s Yacht Basin on beautiful Charlotte Harbor - the marina that won the 2008 USA “Small Marina of the Year” award for its rebuilding efforts after hurricane Charlie and outstanding customer service!
Their amenities include a large heated pool, clay tennis courts, shuffleboard, shower, laundry, cable TV, wireless internet – everything a yachtsman could want!
During this fun-filled weekend we will attend the 2012 Punta Gorda Block Party, featuring famous performer Jim Morris and the Big Bamboo Band. Jim is an articulate singer/songwriter with a devotion to storytelling. Whether it is a thoughtful ballad about doomed love or an anthem to a night of drunken revelry, the listener can always count on well-crafted songs with carefully drawn characters, clever lyrics, and satirical charm.
Other planned activities, will include our famous PIYC Dock Tail Party, delicious meals and a tour of historic and interesting Punta Gorda.
