Barefoot Beach Lunch Cruise
November 10, 2011
Jim and Irene Owens – Leaders
Shallow draft boats assemble near the Pelican Isle shuttle boat slip and depart at 10:00A.M. Cruise north on the Gulf of Mexico close to the shore line past Bonita Beach and Lovers Key State Park. Enter Big Carlos Pass. We will then head south through the backwaters of the beautiful Estero Bay and Little Hickory Bay. If it is too windy, we will cruise inside only. Bring your cameras and be on the lookout for the Dolphins at play. We arrive at The Club at Barefoot Beach bayside docks around 11:45am. Libation begins upon arrival at the 3rd. floor picturesque private Terrace Banquet Room facility overlooking Barefoot Beach and the Gulf of Mexico. A variety of beer and hard drinks will be available (cash only). Sit down lunch will be served around 12:15pm.
After lunch, find your way to the beach chairs and sun umbrellas set up just for us on the beach. Stroll the beach to the Wiggins Pass point or take a dip in the Club’s pool. Return time – on your own.
There is limited dock space with 3 boats at the dock plus 3 boats rafting off. Shallow draft boats should be able to navigate in 30 inches of water. The incoming tide is predicted to be very favorable rising tide at +1.089’ at departure. All PIYC members (boaters and non-boaters) are encouraged to contact the boat captains of the boats scheduled for space availability as a guest. Lunch is limited to 48 in attendance; don’t wait to sign up for this one. Enjoy the fun and sun – be sure to bring your hat and pack suntan lotion.
